EKI donation at Primary School “Desanka Maksimović”, Zvornik

The “Desanka Maksimović” Primary School in Čelopek, near Zvornik, is one of the larger schools in the region, with around 1,000 pupils. In addition to the central school, classes are also held in five satellite schools. Despite the large number of pupils and the dedicated work of its staff, the school – like many others in smaller communities – faces various challenges, one of which is securing funds to improve teaching conditions.

During the summer months, due to extremely high temperatures and the lack of air conditioning, staying in classrooms can be difficult for both pupils and teachers. The school administration reached out to EKI for help, requesting the donation of an air conditioner for one of the classrooms. Recognizing the importance of this initiative, EKI donated the much-needed air conditioner to ensure a more comfortable learning environment for the pupils, especially during periods when high temperatures make concentration and learning more difficult.

The school’s staff and pupils expressed their deep gratitude that their request was understood and that they received support which will have a tangible and lasting impact on the quality of education. They also emphasized that this donation is an encouragement and motivation to continue working towards creating a better environment for children, as every child deserves quality conditions for learning, growth, and development.
