Stories of successful clients – Bosiljka Savčić

About thirty years ago, the Savčić family from Sokolac decided to return to the family estate and start farming and cattle breeding. In the beginning, they were engaged in raising sheep and lambs, and later they expanded their business to cattle breeding and the production of milk and dairy products. The Romanija Mountain area has long been known for cattle breeding due to the favorable climate and land for this activity, which was an encouraging circumstance for the Savčić family at the very beginning. Unfortunately, Mrs. Savčić's husband passed away a few years ago and she continued her work with the help of her children.

Today, their livestock includes about 150 sheep with lambs and 10 milking cows. During the season, considering that it is a large farm and estate, the Savčić family hires seasonal workers who help them with the mowing season. They organized their business in such a way that Mrs. Bosiljka deals mainly with the production of milk and dairy products, and her son is in charge of sheep and lambs. The Savčić household lives exclusively from agriculture, and regardless of the unfavorable market situation, they strive to maintain the estate in the same capacity.

In the period when they needed additional capital, EKI loans were their choice, and it remains the same to this day, whenever they encounter unplanned costs, because agriculture is such an activity that such situations are inevitable and unpredictable (weather disasters, livestock disease, etc.). It is important to note that every EKI loan used by the Savčić family was invested for the purpose of solving current challenges and improving and expanding production.

The Savčić family emphasizes constant effort and work as the key to its success. Their day starts at five o'clock AM and ends at eight o'clock PM, when the last feeding and closing of the cattle is done. In the summer months, it is often done late into the night. Great dedication to work, visits to agricultural fairs and education sessions, and the application of acquired knowledge in business, all result in quality production, sustainability of livestock and the placement of quality products on the market. Due to all of the above, the Savčić household has long-term, regular customers, mostly butchers and restaurants, both from their municipality and from the surrounding towns, Olovo, Visoko, Sarajevo, etc.

Mrs. Bosiljka tells everyone who wants to do the same or a related line of business, that work in agriculture is not easy, it requires sacrifice and constant investment, but with all the above, the results are guaranteed.
